In the wake of Benjamin Netanyahu’s UN speech, activists take to the internet and a meme is born
 
Benjamin Netanyahu and I share three things – he studied architecture at university, he is interested in Arab-Palestinian political issues (well he is slightly more interested than I am, considering that he is Prime Minister of Israel and all that), and we were both born in October. In light of this I do understand the fervent urge he felt to start sketching again to make a point understood. Like a first year architecture student that furtively uses diagrams (usually cartoonish, since you’re still in first year), Bibi, as he is affectionately known to us, practically conveyed his intention of curtailing Iran’s nuclear programme by drawing a red line on a poster depicting what he seemed to envision to be a nuclear bomb. No marks for the sketch there.
Now, Israeli intelligence is usually aware of whatever threats come their way or in the way of any of their interests. The Zionist propaganda machinery is quite arguably the finest in the world and has been that way for centuries; it may perhaps be safely assumed that its power will not diminish for some time to come. But little did all Bibi’s horses and all Bibi’s men realise that, with the great advances in technology, one does not necessarily need to use a pen anymore to make a point with a diagram.
Immediately after Bibi spoke with that pseudo-American accent at the UN General Assembly, oozing with confidence that expected him to be showered with blandishments and glutinous praise to follow his artistic skills reminiscent of Vincent Van Gogh, the online activists took to the virtual streets and a meme was born.
