The Art of Invasion: “Attack the Block” Interview
After a screening of Attack the Block and ensuing Q&A, in true spirit of the film, we covered up our faces with bandanas, cornered the cast and director in the cinema, pointed the camera at them and demanded an interview. Well, that’s what we would have done if they weren’t so obliging. The Platform meets the Director and Cast for talk of art, allegory, aliens and advice for actors and film lovers everywhere.
Radio presenter, comedian, one time member of the living dead, and now Director of his first film; Joe Cornish discusses his hilarious debut film with us, along with the all new and very talented cast. [...] The Platform did a great interview with Joe Cornish and the cast of Attack the Block recently, and one of the topics raised in the interview was what the message of the Attack the Block is. Joe Cornish had the following to say about that. “I wanted to start in a place where all these characters were separate in their own worlds, divided by all the stupid things that divide people, and put this crazy situation on top of them … and show that every human being is capable of being good or bad or indifferent. And it doesn’t matter about race, color or creed. It’s about surcomstance, it’s about where you live.” [...]
