Despite the changes in legislation following Victoria Colmbie’s tragic death, it seems we are still witnessing shocking cases of child neglect and abuse – from baby P to the more recent case of an eight year old commiting suicide from neglect [http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/nottinghamshire/8610948.stm]. It is utterly unfathomable that a child as young as that could have been driven to this. Perhaps it isn’t just youth related service and child care we need. Perhaps it’s parenting education also. To make every child matter in the coming decade, we need to teach the ADULTS why the children matter.
